Victoria is evil....

She is, at least according to Petra. Victoria is Dr. Lisa' nurse and is the one who administers all injections. We went back to the doctor today to get the booster for the antibiotic and for our 15-month physical.

The latter went very well. Petra is developing well for her age...she is above and beyond where they expect her to be. She is in the 25th percentile for height, 50th for weight and 90th for head (damn Bs!) ....and that's the way she's been charting for a while now.

The shot...well, that didn't go so well. Victoria didn't so much as walk in the room and Petra was screaming her head off. Her face and scalp turned a shade of red so deep, it could only be compared to the color of beets. And when the shot went in...oh man oh man. Natche could hear her all the way in Beantown.

At least we didn't have to give her the 15-month innoculations. No, that we'll save until next week....after Christmas.

Where are we?

Sitting in the car. In our driveway (hence the connection). That's where we are. The baby is sleeping (thank holy heaven) and I am playing away on the computer and will gladly do so for as long as she naps. Lately it's been impossible to get her to go down for a nap on the weekends and the only thing that seems to work is a car ride. So off we went. Around the block. And she was out like a light.

I still have so much shopping to do and as soon as Natche gets back from the gym, we'll head over to the mall to try and finish. Yes, I said the mall. And yes, I realize how friggen' insane we are, but it must be done. I really want to get Simon GCs for Pet's daycare providers and they can only be purchased at the mall.

Oh, and the ears? They don't seem to be doing all that much better. I'm hoping we only have one more restless night before the antibiotic actually kicks in. Until then, Motrin every 6-8 hours for the baby and a nice glass of red wine for the mommy. ;-)

Those friggen' ears

By the way, I've just opened this site up to the public. I don't know why...except that perhaps I am so fascinated with this type of media (weblogs) that I am curious what a public blog will bring.

Anywho, on to those damn ears. Petra has yet another ear infection...a double actually. And it sucks. It's kept her up late and woken her up in the middle of the night and made her downright irritable. Oh, and it's made me irritable too. It goes without saying that if she doesn't sleep, I don't sleep. But we are on a course of antibiotics now and I am hopeful that will help.

Long term, I'm not sure what we will do. I have an appointment with Dr. S. next week and I believe we'll talk about sending Pet to an ENT. This is her second infection this season and her ninth overall...I think that warrants a specialist.

If there is a positive in all of this, it's that the infection came this week and not next. We should have her feeling better by the holiday and since we have so much family activity happening, I'd hate for her to miss out.

Petra and the tree

Petra and the tree Posted by Hello

Ignore last post. It's obvious that I figured out how to upload photos. But where did my baby go?

I can't believe...

it's been almost a month since I've updated this blog. The catalyst was an article by Forrester Research I just read that talked about corporate blogging. Who knew it would be such a big phenomenon???

But this isn't about me. This is about Petra. She's doing exceptionally well. KB is starting to prep her for the big transition to the Toddler room next year and she' s already sitting at the big kid table for lunch and sleeping on the big kid cot at napttime. Where did my little baby go???

And did I mention, she took her diaper off the other day and handed it to me after she'd pooped! She knew she pooped; she knew she needed a change; and she knew to give it to me. I am raising a MENSA candidate...I can just feel it.

And I know everyone's getting a bit pissed about the lack of photos around here. I'm having a lot of trouble using the image publising tool. And I have no idea how to fix the problem. So, all I can say is head to Ofoto. You'll get to see all of the Petra pics in a nice, neat album and I don't have to worry about trying to upload here.
